How to get there
By car: drive north on highway 307 and turn off at Puerto Morelos, before you reach the airport.
By colectivo or bus: the shared vans and ADO buses heading to Cancún run along the 307. Ask to get off at Puerto Morelos. They leave you at the highway entrance, and taxis take you the last couple of kilometers into town. Check current fares before you go.
What's different from Playa
No big avenue and no beach clubs lined up. The town is a square, a pier, the leaning lighthouse and a long beach. The reef is right offshore and protected, so the water is usually calm.
Snorkel with a licensed local guide, swim, walk, repeat. If you drove, add a cenote on the way back.
Where to eat
We're on Av. Javier Rojo Gómez, a short walk from the sand. Sit outside, or message us on WhatsApp from the beach and we'll have it ready. Open every day, 12 to 9 PM.
Long beach day? A double with specialty fries and a half kilo of wings to share.
Good to know
From 3 PM our street closes to cars. Park nearby and it's a short walk from there.
